Despite being #7 in the World Athletics Championship, Andrea Vargas achieves her best mark of the year
This past Sunday, July 24, Andrea Vargas ranked #7 on the 100 m hurdles of the World Athletics Championship in Oregon, United States.
The costa Rican achieved her best mark of the year (her timing: 12 seconds and 82 hundredths or 12:82). This placed her #15 in the world, #2 in Latin America, and #9 in America.
Vargas did not take long to thank all her supporters on social media for being part of this significant journey.
"A great competition! New experiences! A new SB of 12.82, number 15 in the world, and we continue for more in the season! Thanks to my sponsors, public entities, and my team for supporting this path. Pura Vida 🇨🇷", wrote the hurdler.
The winner of this test was the Nigerian, Tobi Amusan, who also set a new world record with 12:12.
