Costa Rican pride! Jonathan Varela ended his participation in the 2022 CrossFit Games ranking #8 out of his category
Pride! Tico Jonathan Varela finished 8th in the 2022 CrossFit Games in the 'Master 40-44' category with a total of 270 points.
Throughout the competition, Varela did not stop receiving support from Ticos aficionados of this sport, feeling them with pride and representation for the country.
At the Opening, the Costa Rican faced more than 20 thousand opponents and earned a ticket to Madison, United States, in the semifinals when he finished #10 against the best in the world.
This is the second time that Costa Rica has participated in this great event, since the first time was in 2019, when William Sánchez and Marisol Umaña represented the country for the first time
Likewise, Varela thanks all the people who have helped and encouraged him throughout the competition
The Fittest Master 40-44 was won by the American Rudolph Berger with a total of 570 points, followed by the Australian Caine Hayes and Frenchman Alexandre Jolivet was third
