Athlete becomes the first Spaniard to set a new record in the 100m freestyle
The young Aragonese Luis Dominguez, managed to set a new record for Spain in the second round of the European Championships, in the 100 meter freestyle swim with a total time of 49 seconds.
Thanks to his great effort, the 19-year-old became the first Spanish swimmer to break this record and be able to qualify for the European semifinals with the best thirteenth mark of the competitors.
The athlete expressed how happy he felt to see the mark he achieved, because it was something that was not expected,
"I knew I was in good shape. I could have expected something like that, but I didn't believe it until I saw the time. I'm very happy, it's a good way to make my debut," exclaimed Dominguez.
